Onboard your moderators
Observer is built for a team: admins configure, moderators work the queue. Invite people from Settings → Staff.
Invites
An invite is an email address plus a role. Creating one sends the invite email and also gives you a link to share directly — both carry the same one-time token, valid for 7 days. Pending invites can be revoked; a revoked link stops working immediately.
Someone accepting an invite either joins with their existing Observer account or creates one on the spot.
The two roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Moderator | Work the queue (acknowledge / false-positive), read logs and conversation context, manage people records, open and work investigations, file privacy requests for review. |
| Admin | Everything a moderator can, plus configuration: servers and their settings, ban lists and subscriptions, screening profile and dials, severity policies, staff and invites, privacy processing (verify / process / reject erasure requests, legal holds). |
An org always keeps at least one admin — the last admin can't be demoted or removed.
Accounts
Name and password are self-service under Settings → Account. Changing a password signs out every other session; a forgotten password is recovered by email from the sign-in page.
